Meet The Team | George Rawlings

George joined our team last year and is already well on the way to becoming a fully qualified IFA…

How long have you worked here?

Coming up to a year now.

What is your job title and what does your role entail?

I am a Trainee IFA and I am currently spending time within each department in the building, learning how things work. The first 5 months of my time here I was writing client reports. I then spent 3 months in the Wealth Admin department learning about the processes for ISA and SIPP contributions, and I am now currently in the Corporate scheme department, seeing Corporate scheme clients and dealing with the administration that comes with looking after 125+ Workplace Pension Schemes.

Are you currently studying for any qualifications?

I am currently studying towards my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and have recently passed R04 (Pensions and Retirement Planning). The next exam I’m going to sit will be CF6 – Mortgage Advice.

Do you already hold any qualifications?

Yes, as well as R04, I hold the R01, R03 and R05 qualifications which are based upon Financial Services, Regulation & Ethics, Personal Taxation and Financial Protection.

What did you do before joining the Ring Associates team?

I worked for another IFA firm in King’s Lynn and prior to that, I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2014 where I studied Mathematics.

What do you enjoy outside of Ring Associates?

I’m either playing football for local club AFC Lynn, or playing cricket for North Runcton (dependent on the seasons). If I’m not on the sports field I’m either socialising with friends or studying towards my Diploma.

Where do you see your future at Ring Associates?

I would like to become a Chartered Financial Planner within the next 3 years and hope to be a Senior Adviser in the future and for many years to come.

Is there anything you love about working for Ring Associates?

It’s definitely the client-focused approach that is instilled here at Ring Associates, whether it’s the admin teams keeping our clients constantly up-to-date, or the advisers’ focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients. It’s certainly refreshing to know that there is an IFA company out there that puts the interests of its clients first and foremost.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

When I was 4 years old I broke one of the wax models at Madame Tussauds! I managed to snap off Van Gough’s cigarette from his hand.
